About the USW

The USW represents more than 850,000 workers in the United States and Canada. Our members work in a wide variety of industries including metals, manufacturing, mining, paper and forestry products, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, energy and utilities, and the public sector.

Steelworkers are men and women of all backgrounds from every region of our countries–workers who join together to fighting for improved wages, benefits and working conditions; to ensure justice and dignity on the job; and to create a social movement to better the lives of all working people.
